LAMONI — Murray junior Kate Patton won three events Saturday at the Bruce Jenner Girls Indoor Invitational here, while Seth Nerness picked up a victory for the Murray boys during Friday’s boys meet.
Patton won the 55 meter dash in 7.69 seconds, the 200 meter dash in 27.61 and the 400 meter dash in 1:02.29, more than four full seconds ahead of the second-place finisher.
Nerness won the 55 meter dash during Friday’s boys meet, running 6.93 seconds. He also finished third in the 200 meters with a time of 24.82.
Devin Shields had an all-around day for the Mustangs, placing fourth in the 55 meter hurdles, sixth in the 800 meters and 16th in the 200 meter dash.
Corbin Simmons finished sixth in the 3,200 meter run and eighth in the 1,600 meters for Murray.
Interstate 35’s Tommy Bregar won the boys high jump, clearing 5-08.
The Roadrunner girls had a successful day, finishing second in the 4x200 and 4x400 relays, while also racking up the points in the individual sprint events.
Maddie Albers finished second in the 55 meter dash, with Abby Boyer finishing fourth and Jenna Sandquist coming in sixth. Sandquist also finished third in the 55 meter hurdles and Boyer finished second in the 400 meters.
Natalie Johnson finished third in the 400 meter dash and third in the long jump.
