iWireless: from countertop to store front

A new neighbor is coming to uptown.

iWireless, a nationwide T-Mobile affiliate, once operated out of Quik Pawn on Highway 34, will open a 1,000-square-foot store front Monday on the corner of Elm and Montgomery streets.

“It was time for iWireless to expand,” said Marketing Rep Dani Duns of the locally owned communications business.

According to Duns, iWireless will carry a full selection of accessories, cases, chargers and phones such as the Samsung S III. Other handset brands include HTC, Nokia, Motorola, Alcatel and additional Samsung phones.

“We differ from other noncontract companies by selling unlimited products by days, not by minutes,” said Duns.

In addition to noncontract plans, monthly-billed individual and family contract plans are available.

According to Duns, a 4G network is currently not available, but she is optimistic to have 4G in Creston this summer.

iWireless will bring a number of jobs to Creston.

“We are working with Grapevine Staffing to help fill some of our positions,” said Duns.

Duns said, the company will start with a lean staff and add positions as the operation grows.

iWireless is headquartered in Urbandale and is in a partnership between T-Mobile USA and Iowa Network Services (INS). T-Mobile USA is a nationwide provider of wireless communications services and operates using the globally dominant GSM technology platform. Iowa Network Services is privately owned by a group of 127 independent telephone companies that serve 500,000 rural Iowans.
