Clifford Wolford Davis City

Clifford P. Wolford, 75, of Davis City died Nov. 30, 2012, at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines.

A celebration of life service will be 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 8, at Pleasanton Community of Christ in Pleasanton. A memorial fund has been established by the family. Iowa Cremation of Cedar Rapids is in charge of arrangements.

Clifford P. Wolford, son of Martha (Hamilton) and George Wolford, was born July 23, 1937, on the family homestead in Mercer County, Mo.

Cliff graduated from Leon High School in 1956.

In 1957, Cliff married Joan Owens in Lone Tree.

Cliff worked at Ralston Purina in Davenport for 22 years, then moved his family back to Missouri to the same land he was raised on. He was employed at Jimmy Dean Foods for 14 years and then worked for Industrial Hardfacing in Lamoni until he retired in 2000. For many years he also worked the family farm.

Cliff is survived by his wife Joan Wolford of Davis City; children, Chris (Marilyn) Wolford of Blue Grass, Julie (Craig) Snyder of Saint Charles, Janie (Dennis) Bash of Donahue and Curt (Wiebke) Wolford of Cameron, Mo.; 10 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren; sisters, Shirley Ann Sours of Burlington and Charlotte Langstaff of Davenport; many other relatives and friends.

Cliff was preceded in death by his parents.
