Patricia Babbitt, 79, of Osceola died Aug. 1, 2012, at Southern Hills Specialty Care in Osceola.
A celebration of life will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 28, at the First Baptist Church in Osceola. Her cremated remains will be spread in the mountains of Colorado. Powers Funeral Home, junction of highways 34 and 25, Creston, is in charge of arrangements. Memorials may be directed to the family in care of Genie Wagner. Patricia J. Babbitt, daughter of Elizabeth Jane (Shepherd) and Merril Charles Babbitt, was born Aug. 28, 1932, in Creston.
The family moved to Lincoln, Neb., where she attended school and graduated from Lincoln North East High School in 1950.
Patricia moved to Aurora, Colo., where she worked for Citigroup in Denver for many
years. After retirement, she and her mother started "Something Different," an arts and crafts business in Englewood, Colo. She lived with and cared for her mother for many years.
Pat is survived by her sister Virginia "Gin" Cottier of Farmersville, Texas; sister-in-law Evonne Babbitt of Norwalk; brothers-in-law, Joe Mullens of Virginia Beach, Va., and
Duane "Ken" Denbow of San Diego, Calif.; niece Genie (husband Larry) Wagner of Farmersville, Texas; many other cousins, nieces and nephews, friends and relatives.
Patricia was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Barbara Mullens and Nancy Denbow; and brothers, Frank and William Babbitt.
