Harold B. Cochran, 90, of Davenport died July 19, 2012, at Manor Care, Utica Ridge, in Davenport.

Funeral services were 10:30 a.m. today, July 23, at Newcomb Presbyterian Church in Davenport. Burial was in St. Ann's Cemetery, Long Grove. Cunnick-Collins Mortuary, Davenport, was in charge of arrangements. Memorials may be directed to Newcomb Presbyterian Church or the Honor Flight Network. Harold B. Cochran, son of Hannah (Geagley) and Walter Cochran, was born Oct. 8, 1921, in Bedford.

Harold graduated from Bedford High School in 1939.

After graduation, Harold worked for Civilian Conservation Corp (CCC). He then worked at Cudhay Packing Plant for a few years and then was drafted into the U.S. Army in 1942. There he served in the U.S Army Signal Corp where he spent 30 months in Calcutta, India. He was discharged in 1946.

In 1946, Harold married Pearl Riepe in Troy, Kan. They later divorced.

Harold married Wilma Veatch in Naples, Fla.

On Nov. 29, 1985, Harold married Jane McGuire.

Harold farmed for 13 years and worked 22 years with the U.S Postal service carrying mail throughout Creston. He retired Jan. 2, 1982.

Harold was a 4-H Leader, served as Past Elder and Deacon of the Platte Center Presbyterian Church and then Deacon at Creston First Presbyterian Church. He was currently a member of Newcomb Presbyterian Church in Davenport. He was also a member of Theodore J. Martin VFW 1797 in Creston and the Masonic Lodge in Cromwell, then Afton and most recently in Creston. Harold was also a member of the Lakeshore Golf Country Club. Harold bowled since 1960 and was secretary of the Men’s Association for three years, secretary of the League for more than 25 years and won State Senior Men’s Singles and all events in 2005.

Harold is survived by his wife Jane of Davenport; daughters, Linda Cochran of Creston, Mary (Max) Denton of Afton and Kathy (Joe) Schuster of Adel; son, Paul (Cindy) Cochran of Creston; stepdaughters, Kathleen (Ted) Sandrock of Davenport, Susan (David) Stanton of Longview, Texas, Ann (John) Bateman of Lewis Center, Ohio, Janet (Derrick) McKnight of Evansville, Ind., and Maureen (John Hessler) McGuire of Oconomowoc, Wis.; stepsons, Michael (Cheryl) McGuire of Davenport, John McGuire of Stillwater, Okla., David (Terrie) McGuire of Spring, Texas, and Joseph (Jayna) McGuire of Polk City; 14 grandchildren; 18 step-grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; 10 step-great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; and sisters, Faye Farrens of Rapid City, S.D., Lil Clayman of Lakeland, Fla., Anna Wetuski of Omaha, Neb., and Clarice Reed of Savannah, Mo.

In addition to his parents, Harold was preceded in death by his great-grandchildren, Bailey and Summer and brothers, Hank and Walter Cochran.
