Earlham rolls past Lenox, 14-0

EARLHAM — No. 2-ranked Earlham dominated Lenox, 14-0 in three innings, in a Class 1A regional softball contest Friday night.

Amber Logemann struck out eight and walked none in a no-hit performance. She hit one batter.

Lauren Hensley took the loss, relieved by BAiley Rainforth in the second inning. Earlham (32-4) finished with 12 hits, led by Megan Algreen, Amy Wright and Abbey Murphy with two hits each. Murphy, Earlham’s sophomore shortstop, hit a home run and triple. Wright added a double.

Lenox finished 18-13 (8-8 Pride of Iowa) for its best season since 2003.

“Seniors Katie Barker, Sami Borland, Logan Kinyon and K.J. Maynes paid the priceand were instrumental in the turnaround season,” coach Tom Shields said.

Earlham faces Corning tonight in Creston in the regional final.
