Farley’s & Sathers in Creston is now conducting business under a new name as the company recently completed a merger with a Chicago-based candy company.
On June 18, the merger was announced and Farley’s & Sathers in Creston began operating under the name Ferrara Candy Company.
“We are pleased to complete the transaction, which creates a leader in our category,” Salvatore Ferrara II, chairman and CEO of Ferrara Candy Company said in a press release. “Together, we are entering an exciting new chapter that will allow us to delight our customers with the same great products they know and love, while continuing to innovate our offerings.”
However, the merger will result in nationwide changes. It will cause two Farley’s and Sathers facilities to eventually close, including one in Round Lake, Minn., and a packaging and distribution facility in Chattanooga, Tenn.
The headquarters of the new Ferrara Candy Company will be based in Chicago.
