From Phyllis Kimball
Creston
This letter is in response to the lady whose Yorkie was attacked by the pitbull.
As pet parents, we all have responsibility. Our town of Creston is very fortunate to have outstanding organizations for protection of our animals. We have our C.A.R.E. group headed by Mycale Downey and Michelle Jones and volunteer Janelle McLain and her effort to supply dog houses.
Most of all, our city is so fortunate to have Doug Bierle at animal control who also goes above and beyond the call of duty to help with any animal at any time, we are truly blessed.
As a pet parent, we all have responsibilities to feed, water and provide a pet shelter for our pets. If you choose to own a pet that a city ordinance says you have to have insurance and have it fenced in, this is your responsibility and your obligation whether it is in your yard or you are visiting a friend. How tragic if this would have been a small child that was attacked.
If you are going to own a pet, we all have responsibility or you should find another home for your pet if you cannot meet those responsibilities.
