Mount Ayr boys repeat as POI track champs

MARTENSDALE — Mount Ayr boys and Martensdale-St. Marys girls won the team championships at the Pride of Iowa Conference track meet here Tuesday.

The Raider boys repeated as champions while Nodaway Valley finished fourth, Corning tenth, East Union 11th and Lenox 12th.

The Corning girls finished third, just two points behind Interstate 35 for second, while Mount Ayr finished a distant fourth, Lenox seventh, Nodaway Valley 10th and East Union 12th.

Mount Ayr's Dustin Pritchett was a double champion in the throwing events and Corning's Caitlyn Stroud won both the 100 meters and 200 meters while teammate Tiffany Shepherd won both distance races and anchored the distance medley to a victory.
