Smith, Desselles wed in Oct. 22 ceremony

Jamie Lea Smith and Curtis Paul Desselles III, both of Pleasanthill, were married in a 3 p.m. Oct. 22 ceremony at St. Edwards in Afton. The Rev. Pins of Creston officiated the ceremony.

The bride is the daughter of Dennis and Janet Smith of Afton. The groom is the son of Curtis Paul Desselles II.

Maid of honor was Amber Gleason of Montrose, Colo., sister of the bride.

Bridesmaids were Shannon and Sydney Smith, both of Afton, cousins of the bride, and Katie Vasquez of Pleasanthill.

Bride’s personal attendants were Connie Cunningham, Heidi Cox and Mary Ann Hansen.

Best man was Trevor Bristle of California.

Groomsmen were Caleb Durward of Chicago, Ill., Cody Smith of Osceola, brother of the bride, and Craig Vasquez of Pleasanthill.

Ushers were Mike Hansen of Afton and Dusty Mullin of Creston, both cousins of the bride, and Wes Zollman of Mount Ayr.

Flower girl was Madison Smith of Osceola, niece of the bride.

Ringbearer was Michael Smith of Osceola, nephew of the bride.

Guest book hostesses were Lacy, Carley and Candace Zollman of Afton.

Honored guest was Pat Smith of Afton, grandmother of the bride.

The bride wore a satin A-line gown with beaded embroidered metallic bodice and inverted V-empire cathedral train. She carried a bouquet of long-stem, white and dark purple calla lilies.

Bridesmaids wore long, black gowns. They carried single long-stem white and purple calla lilies.

The groom wore a black suit with white tie.

Groomsmen wore black suits with dark purple ties.

A reception was held after the ceremony at Supertel Inn and Conference Center in Creston.

Reception host and hostess were Terry and Lisa Smith of Afton, uncle and aunt of the bride.

Refreshment servers were Mary Ann Hansen, Heidi Cox, Ashley Smith and Nancy Allen, all family of the bride.

Ashley Smith of Afton, cousin of the bride, was in charge of gifts.

The bride graduated from East Union High School and Mercy College with an ASN. She is an RN at CSICU at Mercy Hospital.

The groom graduated from Northland College in Wisconsin. He manages the HyVee in Pleasanthill.

The couple reside in Pleasanthill.
