Sadie Hockett and Jason Bruce, both of Creston were married in a 5 p.m. Aug. 7 ceremony at the residence of Ron Bruce of Creston. The Rev. Chuck Spindler performed the ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of Jim and Wendy Frost of Winterset and Denny and Peg Hockett of Des Moines. The groom is the son of Ron and Barb Bruce of Creston.
Matron of honor was Jennifer Lyon of Winterset.
Bridesmaids were Emily Turner of Creston, sister of the groom, Callie Bruce of Creston, sister-in-law of the groom, Heather Moore of Urbandale, and Melissa Zellmer and Kelly Busch, both of Creston.
Bride’s personal attendant was Jennifer Grace of Diagonal.
Best man was Josh Simmons of Creston.
Groomsmen were Dylan Frost of Ames, brother of the bride, Mike Bruce of Creston, brother of the groom, Travis Turner of Creston, brother-in-law of the groom, Jake Tripp of Lenox and Brennon Zellmer of Creston.
Ushers were Luke Hockett of Winterset, brother of the bride, and Jeremy Schaffer of Eldora.
Flower girls were Grace and Abbie of Creston, the couple’s children.
Ringbearers were Lane Hockett of Winterset, nephew of the bride, and Cael Turner of Creston, nephew of the groom.
A reception was held after the ceremony at Three Mile Lodge in Afton.
The bride graduated from Winterset High School in 2001 and Simpson College in 2006 with a major in criminal justice and sociology. She is employed by Union County Department of Human Services as a social worker.
The groom graduated from Creston High School in 1997 and is employed as a field tech with Southern Iowa Rural Water Association.
The couple reside in Creston.
