Simpson, Wilson wed in June 20 ceremony

Ashley Simpson and Jarrad Wilson, both of Creston, were married in a 2 p.m. June 20 ceremony at Jerusalem United Methodist Church north of Creston.

The bride is the daughter of Lisa Moore and Doug Wilson of Creston, and the late Bryan Simpson. The groom is the son of Steve and Cindy Wilson of Afton.

The bride was given in marriage by her brothers Cody and Rusty Simpson of Creston. Doug Wilson sang “Amazed” by Lonestar as the bride walked down the aisle.

Maid of honor was Whisper Schooling of Shenandoah.

Bridesmaids were Kylene and Holly Simpson, both of Creston, sisters-in-law of the bride.

Best man was Jeremy Wilson of Wapella, Ill., brother of the groom.

Groomsmen were Tom Arnold of Shannon City and Casey Fluckey of Creston, cousin of the groom.

Ushers were Dustin Brown of Afton and Joey Fluckey of Des Moines, both cousins of the groom.

Flower girls were Kasyn Shinn of Orient, cousin of the groom, and Makaela Simpson of Creston, niece of the bride.

Ring bearers were Samuel Simpson and Drake Wilson, both of Creston, sons of the couple.

Honored guests were Catherine Fluckey of Creston, Wendell and Lucille Wilson of Afton, grandparents of the groom, and Willard and Katie Simpson of Des Moines, Roberta Osborn of Nevinville and Dennis Engle of Newton, grandparents of the bride.

Candle lighters were Paige and Bailey Rainforth, both of Sharpsburg, cousins of the groom.

Guest book attendants were Denise and Lacey Moore, both of Creston, aunts of the bride.

Videographers were Steve Fluckey of Stanton and Paul Rainforth of Sharpsburg, both uncles of the groom.

Bride’s personal assistant was Staci Tull.

Matt Shackleford was in charge of music.

A reception, dinner and dance were held following the ceremony at Lakeshore Golf and Country Club in Afton.

Reception hosts and hostesses were Scott and Joann Simpson of Orient, aunt and uncle of the bride, and Merritt and Jo Krause of Ankeny.

Cake servers were Sheila Brown of Afton, aunt of the groom, and Megan Brown of Monticello, cousin of the groom.

Kitchen servers were Leanne Fluckey of Stanton, Lisa Reese of North Liberty, and Brenda Rainforth, all aunts of the groom.

The bride graduated from Creston High School in 2004 and Southwestern Community College in 2008. She is employed by Southern Iowa Resources for Families in Creston.

The groom graduated from Creston High School in 2002 and attended Southwestern Community College auto mechanics school. He is employed by Wellman Dynamics.

The couple resides in Creston and are planning a honeymoon in January.
