Jay, Street wed in July 25 ceremony

Jacquelyn Nichole Jay and Brett James Street, both of Creston, were married July 25, 2009, in a 3 p.m. ceremony at Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Creston. The Rev. Joseph Pins performed the ceremony.

The bride is the daughter of Dennis and Troy Jay of Grinnell and David and Jo Ann Rathe of Creston. The groom is the son of Stan and Karen Street of Edgewood, Wash., and Tom and Tracy Marquart of Creston.

Maid of honor was Emily Ide of Shannon City, cousin of the bride.

Bridesmaids were Megan Brown of Monticello, Lori Means of Creston, Kelsey Short of Urbandale, Amy Hauge of Osceola, Beth Clausen of Orient and Lindsay Grose of Iowa City.

Best man was Trent Sternberg of Milton, Wash.

Groomsmen were Brody Jay and Lance Means of Creston, Ben Waigand of Thayer, Paul James of South Hill, Wash., Travis Street of Milton, Wash., and Nathan Rigsby of Ankeny.

Ushers were Jim Ide of Iowa City, Andy Ide of Des Moines and David Trembly of Altoona.

Flower girls were Sydney Hartsock and Lianna Means of Creston and Jessica Street of Edgewood, Wash.

Ringbearers were Keaton and Kaden Street, sons of the groom.

The bride’s personal attendants were Barb Ide of Shannon City and Lizzi Jay of Albuquerque, N.M., aunts of the groom.

Guestbook hostesses were Becki Esparsen of Albuquerque, N.M., and Nikki Huntington of Pleasant Hill.

Programs were presented by Christi McCorkel of Ankeny and Jaimie Stofferahn of Des Moines.

Hannah Thompson and Brooke Thelen, cousins of the bride, were in charge of gifts.

Lector readings were done by Dan Ide of Shannon City and Randy Jay of Albuquerque, N.M., uncles of the bride.

Candle lighters were Jesse and Cory Rathe of Creston and Garret Jay of Grinnell, brothers of the bride.

Host and Hostesses were Steve and Barb Crittenden and Dan and Barb Ide.

Soloist was Haylee Walters of Kansas City, Mo. and pianist was Lynn Baker of Creston.

Honorary guests were Bill and Lois Jay, Bob and Janet Kessler and Doris Hutchinson, grandparents of the bride, and Noreen Hoffman and Bob and Syl Marquart, grandparents of the groom.

Memory candles were lit during the ceremony for the late Robert Hoffman, grandfather of the groom, and Eric Crittenden, friend of the couple.

The bride carried a rounded bouquet of ivory roses and stephanotis accented with pearl beads and tied with ivory satin ribbon. The bridesmaids carried rounded bouquets of dark red roses and hydrangeas accented with champagne beads and tied with chocolate satin ribbon.

Colors of the wedding were truffle, latte, champagne, and ivory.

The bride graduated from Creston High School in 2005 and Simpson College in 2009 with a Bachelor of Science degree in corporate communications and marketing. She will be attending Drake University for her masters degree in business administration and is employed with Wells Fargo Financial in sales and relationship management in Des Moines.

The groom graduated from Fife High School in 2000 in Fife, Wash. He is employed with Waste Management in Des Moines and owns Brett Street Power Washing in Des Moines.

After a honeymoon to Cancun, Mexico, the couple reside in Des Moines.
