Heather Anne McNichols, 23, 304 N. Bureau St., was charged 9 p.m. Monday at the Union County Law Enforcement Center with simple assault. According to a Creston police report, McNichols entered the residence of Cateya Phipps, 900 N. Spruce St., and the two had a verbal argument. According to Phipps' statement, McNichols attempted to strike her with a closed fist and did strike the entry door.
McNichols was released on promise to appear.
