Osceola's Anchor Motors, Beecher of Shenandoah and Irwin Auto of Winterset are on the list. M&M Motors of Creston spared.

M&M owner Jack Davis said "very good news" is what came today in a letter from Chrysler LLC.

The letter ended a period of waiting and wondering by affirming M&M will be retained as a Chrysler dealer.

"It is very good news, and that's kind of what we all needed," said Davis. "That is absolutely what we were waiting for."

The dealership will be assumed and assigned to a new company that purchases Chrysler's assets.

"We're excited about it," said Davis. "We think with the new management and the possible involvement of the Fiat Group there could be some new designs and new directions that could be good for the auto industry and the Chrysler customers."

Davis added he feels bad for those who didn't make the cut.
