According to an Adair County report, on April 18, a female reported a male, identified as Whetstone, had been bothering her at her place of employment. The female, who works at a restaurant in Casey, said Whetstone had been coming into the restaurant since March and on several occasions had asked for her phone number and on one occasion left his phone number and tried to touch her face, but she backed away.

Approximately one week later, Whetstone stayed at the restaurant her entire shift and didn’t leave until a manager intervened. The next day he came in again and tried to get her to come to his side of the table, he was again asked to leave by management. The owner of the business also spoke with Whetstone about leaving her alone.

A week later, he came the restaurant again and left without being asked but sat outside and called the business phone number to try to speak with the female. The female said Whetstone has tried to entice her with money, lake homes and a new truck.

The female said she believes Whetstone has also visited or drove by her other place of employment in Fontanelle, owned by her mother. The establishment’s phone number is her mother’s cell phone number and she has received calls from Whetstone asking where the female is and stating he was driving around the east side of Greenfield looking for her vehicle to figure out where she lives. At approximately 10:34 p.m April 16, Whetstone called again and when the victim’s mother answered, Whetstone told her someone had told him the victim lived east of Greenfield and he was driving around the area looking for her. He wanted to know where the victim was, why she didn’t have a phone and wanted to give one to her. He told her mother he had papers for the victim to sign because he wanted to give her a truck and property due to her financial situation. The victim’s mother told Whetstone to leave her daughter alone because she is much younger than him, causing Whetstone to become angry and hang up.
