A house fire in Creston caused major damage to a home on Myrtle Street.
According to Creston Fire Chief Todd Jackson, at approximately 9:10 a.m. the fire department was advised of a structure fire at 219 Myrtle Street.
Firefighters arrived at the residence to find a two-story, single family home engulfed in flames.
Investigations revealed a space heater in the three-season porch caused the fire.
No one was injured in the fire but four cats in the home did not survive.
