Finn, Mehle to wed in West Virginia

Karon Finn announces the engagement and approaching marriage of Jeff Finn, son of Karon and the late Michael Finn, to Kaitlin Mehle, daughter of Bill and Diana Mehle. 

Finn graduated from Creston High School in 1997 and the University of Northern Iowa in 2002.  He teaches English at Iowa City West High School.

Mehle graduated from Denison University in 2005 and is currently pursuing a master’s degree in science education at the University of Iowa.  

An Aug. 7 wedding is planned at St. Agnes Catholic Church in Charleston, W.Va.

McKinley Park Festival
The McKinley Park Festival kicked off at 8:30 a.m. Saturday July 31 with a kids fishing contest. More than 150 kids participated in the contest. A bike parade ensued at 1 p.m. The parade was judged and two boys and two girls received new bikes. The Bill Riley Talent Show took place at the bandshell at 2 p.m. First-place contestants advanced to perform at the Iowa State Fair. And at 10 p.m., the Creston Shooters delivered an 18-minute fireworks display.

Starting school on Aug. 23, or earlier, is a good idea.
I agree, it prevents school from lasting too far into June.
