Clear, Price wed in New Year’s Day ceremony
Erica Lynn Price and Benjamin Leroy Clear, both of West Des Moines, were married in a 4 p.m. New Year’s Day ceremony officiated by the Rev. Chuck Spindler at Orient Plymouth Congregational Church.
The bride is the daughter of Phil and Diana Price of Creston. The groom is the son of Gary Clear and Kathy Hall of Afton.
Maid of honor was Danielle Price of Creston, sister of the bride.
Bridesmaids were Keiley Lange of Des Moines, Hannah Clear of Afton, sister of the groom, and Kim McFee and Nicole Stoll, both of Creston.
Best man was Zach Clear of Des Moines, brother of the groom.
Groomsmen were Chris Clear of Afton and Gary Clear of Red Oak, brothers of the groom, Scott Nixon of Afton, brother-in-law of the groom, and Brent Corkerean of Ames.
Ushers were Ben Price of Pennsylvania, and Jermiah and Jacob White of Wisconsin, all cousins of the bride.
Flower girls were Krista Clear and Grace Nixon of Afton, nieces of the groom.
Ringbearers were Sebestan and Gary Clear of Red Oak, nephews of the groom.
Organist was Michelle Downey of Orient.
Candle lighters were Allison Clear of Afton, niece of the groom, and Morgan Price of New York, cousin of the bride.
Guest book hostess was Morgan Price of New York, cousin of the bride.
Honored guests were Ron and Marlene Piel of Creston, grandparents of the bride, and Helen Walkup of Afton, grandmother of the groom.
The bride wore an ivory gown with buttons up the back, a high-collared neckline and sleeveless top.
The bride’s flowers were white tulips and blue tiger lilies with sparkling silver on the tips.
Bridesmaids wore royal blue gowns with strapless tops and long trains.
A reception was held after the ceremony at Supertel Inn in Creston hosted by Judy Gittens of Virginia, Rhonda Campbell of Corning, Jeanne Piel of Creston, Mary Morgan of Michigan and Terri White of Wisconsin, all aunts of the bride.
Refreshment servers were Paul Price of Pennsylvania and Pam Price of Georgia.
The bride received an associate’s degree in hotel and hospitality management from AIB College of Business and is employed by Chase Suites Hotel in Des Moines.
The groom received an associate’s degree from Southwestern Community College and is employed by Bunn-O-Matic in Creston.
The couple reside in West Des Moines.
