Council supports 
narcotics crackdown

Local law enforcement, with the help of outside agencies like South Central Iowa Interagency Drug Task Force, has cracked down on narcotics manufacturers over the past few months.

Creston City Council made it very clear Monday night that they had taken notice, and support the effort.

By unanimous consent, council members approved the renewal of a 28E agreement allowing the city of Creston to remain an active member of South Central Iowa Interagency Drug Task Force.

Drug dog

Council talks quickly switched gears, beginning to focus on the idea of bringing a drug-detecting dog back to the area.

“Between the dog and the drug task force, I think the city of Creston would get a lot more utilization out of the dog than you ever did out of the drug task force,” Councilman Larry Wynn said.
