Childcare option considered

AFTON — An addition to the East Union middle/high school will expand opportunities for children outside the school’s current parameters.

Included in the current addition plans are two separate proposals that could add early-childhood rooms to the school.

Two, at least 1,000-square-feet rooms with inclusive restrooms and food-storage area and sufficient space for 20 children each, are part of the expansion plan. These rooms, for use by 4-year-olds, would be a preschool and the new home of Joyful Sparks Preschool and Successful Beginnings/Shared Visions.
