Carole Cooper, 89, formerly of Creston passed away, Sunday, Dec. 13, 2020, at Westwing Place in DeWitt, from COVID-19. Carole was born July 1, 1931, to Albert and Myrtle (Penwell) Paxson in York, Nebraska. She graduated from Murray High School in 1949.

She was united in marriage to Eugene R. Wimmer in 1950. The couple had four children and resided most of their married life in Creston, where she owned and operated an abstract and title business. The couple divorced in 1989.

Carole later married Ralph Cooper in 1999 and he preceded her in death soon thereafter.

Carole had many hobbies: quilting, ceramics, camping and raising dogs and horses. She served as president of her local Red Hat Society. She loved all kinds of dancing, playing cards, games and getting dressed up.

She is survived by her children: Margaret (John) Johnson of Cedar Rapids, Robert (Barbara) Wimmer of Welton, Scott (Nancy) Wimmer of Council Bluffs and Nancy Knox of Creston; 12 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her sister, Margaret Stroman and her grandson, Eugene Hunt. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Arrangements are in care of Schultz Funeral Home, DeWitt. Condolences can be expressed www.schultzfuneralhomes.com.
