Hospice 101

Care Initiatives Hospice will be providing a one-hour seminar entitled ‘Hospice 101,’ which attempts to provide a basic understanding of the hospice program. The seminar will be Jan. 13 at Gibson Memorial Library.

In an effort to eliminate the confusion about hospice, the session covers topics like hospice eligibility, services, and payment. For example, many people do not understand that hospice services are provided by multiple companies and that each company has a different philosophy and strategy of care. Families and caregivers should take the time to interview various hospice providers to understand the services provided.

Those attending the Hospice 101 session will be given specific examples of the comfort and support provided by Care Initiatives Hospice through their team of caregivers. The seminar is free to the public and opportunity will be given for asking questions.
