Anthony Wasson, 33, 604 S. Division St., was charged with disorderly conduct, interference with official acts and assault on an officer 8:21 p.m. Tuesday at his residence.

According to a Creston Police report, officers were called to Wasson’s residence to perform a welfare check on others inside. Wasson acted in an aggressive manner and provoked fear in the other residents. Officers attempted to place him in custody, but Wasson began to punch and kick the officers and continued acting in a threatening manner by yelling, swearing and breaking objects.

Wasson was being held in the Union County Jail on $1,600 bond.

Trisha Johnston, 36, 512 Wyoming Ave., was charged with first-offense possession of a controlled substance, first-offense operating while intoxicated and driving while suspended 6:45 p.m. Wednesday at the Union County Law Enforcement Center.

According to a Creston Police report, Johnston was exiting the Casey’s located at the intersection of West Taylor and Sumner streets in a 2001 Chevrolet and was involved in an accident. When officers arrived, Johnston was displaying signs of impairment. Johnston went inside the Casey’s to use the restroom while K-9 Jax was deployed. Jax had a positive behavior response to the front driver’s where a purse was located. Nothing was found in the car, but officers found methamphetamine, paraphernalia, and hydrocode pills disposed of in the restroom, which Johnston admitted were hers.

Johnston was being held in the Union County Jail on $2,300 bond.
