William “Bill” Reed, 60, of Creston, died Oct. 27, 2019, at his home in Creston.
Memorial services will be 1 p.m. Nov. 9 at Powers Funeral Home in Creston. Full military honors will be provided by Theodore J. Martens V.F.W. Post No. 1797. Open visitation with family present will be from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Casual dress will be much appreciated by the family. Memorials can be directed to the family. William “Bill” Anthony Reed, son of William Anthony and Suzanne Marie (McGarrity) Reed, was born November 30, 1958, in Omaha, Nebraska. Bill attended Omaha South High School. In 1976, Bill began serving his country as a part of the U.S. Army and later as a part of the U.S. Army National Guard.
On Aug. 6, 1977, Bill married Tammy Lyn Richardson in Elkhorn, Nebraska. They settled there and Bill began working as an auto mechanic. He later became a professional painter in new construction projects all around the metro area. In 1998, they moved to Valley, Nebraska, and continued to work as a professional painter before retiring in 2018 due to health concerns and later moving to Creston in 2019. Bill was a member of the Bethany Lutheran Church in Elkhorn, Nebraska.
Bill is survived by his wife Tammy Reed of Creston; father William (Mary) Reed of Bellevue, Nebraska; son Jeremy Turi Reed of Valley, Nebraska; brothers: Ronald Reed of Fremont, Nebraska, and Scott Alan (Karen) Conway of Spokane, Washington; and sister Brenda Davis of Spokane, Washington.
Bill was preceded in death by his mother Suzanne Conway, grandmother Yvonna McGarrity.
