Vote yes

Creston

As the election approaches, I am writting to encourage everyone who goes to the polls to vote for all three of the bond issues on the ballot — for the library, for the pool and for McKinley Lake.

If we want Creston to thrive and be a viable community into the future, we need to step up and support the things that will improve the quality of life here right now. If we want people to stay here and move here to live, work and raise their families, we have to do the best that we can to make Creston an attractive community to call home.

I have lived here over 30 years. One of the prevailing attitudes in this town that has bothered me the most is the attitude that what we have is “good enough.” It took forever to pass a bond issue to build a new high school and we ended up with one that is “good enough.” I hear people say that “our library is good enough” and “our pool is good enough.”

There are communities around us who are not settling for good enough. For example, the town of Atlantic built a better high school and a better YMCA. They also have a beautifully renovated city library. They want to be more than “good enough.” I believe that Creston will be left behind and not remain a growing community if we don’t do the same.

Be FOR something! Vote YES for the future of Creston!!
