Alan Morrison returns to his roots Nov. 16 for one show only at the Warren Cultural Center on the square in Greenfield. Morrison was active in vocal music and played guitar and bass in swing choir. He has been performing music semi-professionally for 35 plus years in bands including Puro, Ramblin’ Fever, Bentwood, The Wedding Singers, and Identity Crisis. He owns AM Guitar Works in Davenport.
Rebecca Casad is a vocalist, songwriter, and ukulele player born and raised in the Quad Cities. She has been performing for her whole life, and is currently a student at Augustana College in Rock Island, Illinois, where she studies Computer Science, German, and Theatre.
Casad and Morrison first started performing together occasionally as an opening act in 2016. In Jan. of 2018, they booked a steady Friday night gig at Connect Coffee House in Davenport. They have been performing several times a month since then, expanding out to several venues in and around the Quad Cities area.
Their album “Memoirs”, a collection of 11 of Rebecca’s original songs, was one of 15 selected for QC Beats, a streaming service featuring local Quad City musicians. Rebecca and Alan have appeared on the “Living Local” TV show and have also been selected to be featured on the “RME Originals” TV series on Public Television.
This concert is part of the Warren Cultural Center’s 2019-2020 “Locals and Legends” series and is supported in part, by the Iowa Arts Council, a division of the Iowa Department of Cultural Affairs, and the National Endowment for the Arts.
