Fred William Still Jr., 50, of Fort Dodge, was charged with driving while suspended 7:46 p.m. Thursday on the 500 block of Levy Street.

According to a Creston Police report, Still admitted to driving from Fort Dodge to Creston and planning to drive back. Officers noted his license was suspended with four withdrawals in effect.

Stills was released from the Union County Jail after pleading guilty and receiving a $397.50 fine.

Brandon Garner, 29, of Creston was charged on an active Clarke County warrant 7:46 p.m. Saturday on the 500 block of Levy Street.

Garner was released to the custody of the Clarke County Sheriff’s office.

Scott Richard Phipps, 56, 1101 W. Adair St., was charged with domestic assault 2:53 p.m. Sunday on the 1100 block of West Adair Street.

According to a Creston Police report, Phipps threatened a victim. When the victim defended themself by punching him, Phipps grabbed the victim and slammed the victim’s face on the wall multiple times. The victim stated Phipps struck her in the neck with a lid. Officers noted injuries consistent with the victim’s statement including multiple visible marks on her face and neck and items broken in the house. Phipps was also very disrespectful and used vulgar language towards officers.

Phipps was released on $100 bond.

Paul Duane Lauer, 57, of Winterset was charged with possession of a controlled substance and possession of paraphernalia 6:22 p.m. Sunday on Lake Shore Drive.

According to a Creston Police report, after stopping Lauer for a cracked windshield, officers asked him to consent to a search of the vehicle. Officers found two baggies that later tested positive for methamphetamine, a glass pipe, a marijuana pipe and baggie containing marijuana. Lauer admitted the marijuana was his.

Lauer was being held in the Union County Jail on $10,300 bond.

Dustin Jackson reported that a shed had been broken into and boxes of copper pieces had been taken 8:15 p.m. Sunday at 207 South Maple Street.

Estimated loss was $4-500.

John Wohlenhaus reported a burglary 6:47 p.m. Sunday at 1784 U.S. Highway 34.

According to a Creston Police report, a lock was cut on a storage unit and tent and an awning were taken.

Estimated loss was $450.
