DES MOINES — Progress Iowa executive director Matt Sinovic issued the following statement today about the ongoing impeachment inquiry and reports in the media that Senator Joni Ernst (R-IA) has not read the whistleblower report:
“In the past week, Senator Joni Ernst has had time to weigh in on Carson King, but reportedly hasn’t taken the time to read the whistleblower report about the Trump administration.”
“Seriously, Senator Ernst?”
“The President of the United States solicited the help of a foreign country to intervene in our election by digging up dirt on one of his political opponents. Regardless of political party, you have a responsibility to protect our country from foreign attacks. These are serious allegations being made by a whistleblower from within the White House.”
“The whistleblower report is nine pages. Do your job, read it, and hold the President accountable for his actions.”
