James H. Abell

James H. Abell, 87, of Creston died at Crest Haven Care Center in Creston.

James Herbert Abell, son of Charles Herbert and Jessie Elizabeth (Dorsey) Abell was born Aug. 2, 1932, in Creston. He grew up in Creston and attended Creston Community Schools.

James Herbert Abell married Mary Lou Burg on Dec. 27, 1952, in Creston. They settled in Creston where James drove a truck for Farmers Coop. James later moved to Denver, Colo. where he dealt in antiques and worked as the foreman on the 16th Street Mall for eleven years before returning to Creston in 1994 where he began working security at Wellman Dynamics.

James is survived by his wife; daughters: Kathleen Abell of Afton and Denise (Tom) Redding of Creston; son James C. Abell of Creston; two grandchildren; a great-grandson; brothers: Steven Abell of Creston and Fred (Sharon) Abell of Cromwell; sisters-in-law: Nancy Abell of Creston and Phyllis Abell of Castle Rock, Colorado; and many nieces, nephews and other family.

James was preceded in death by his parents, son Michael Duane Abell; brothers: Jackie, Joe and Rod Abell; and sisters-in-law: Irene Abell and Julie Abell.
