Nancy Yearman, 78, of Creston, died Aug. 29, 2019, at the EveryStep Hospice Home in Creston. A celebration of life memorial service will be 11 a.m. Sept. 5, at the Crest Baptist Church, 1211 N. Poplar Street in Creston. Pastor Chuck Spindler will officiate. Burial will be private. Memorials may be directed to the Crest Baptist Benevolence Fund. Nancy Ann (Colby) Yearman, daughter of Henry and Hazel Joyce Colby, was born on July 11, 1941, in Northfield, Vermont. She graduated from Northfield High School.
In 1970, Nancy married James Yearman in Northfield, Vermont. They made their home in Northfield and then Rogersville, Tennessee. Nancy was a homemaker and cared for foster children in her home for 15 years. Nancy then moved to Creston, to live near her daughter, Wendy.
Nancy was a member of the Crest Baptist Church in Creston, where she participated in Ladies Bible studies. She was also a member of the Southern Prairie YMCA of Creston, and part of their Aquatic Power Swimming Program.
Survivors include her sister, Jane Sage of Maine; daughters, Wendy Pringle of Creston and Deborah Schwartzkopff of McMinnville, Oregon; six grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Nancy was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, son-in-law Robert Charles Pringle, granddaughter Nancy Ann Frank, and brothers: Howard, James and Stanley Colby.
