(UPDATED 11:19 a.m. Aug. 22)

Allen Scott Long, 35, of Lenox was charged on a Union County warrant for lascivious acts with a child 11:59 a.m. Wednesday at Southern Prairie YMCA, 1201 W. Townline St.
According to a Creston Police report, deputies were dispatched to an Afton residence 5 p.m. Aug. 9 after law enforcement received a report of sexual abuse. Long had come to the residence in Afton, where a female child under the age of 13, told deputies that Long took her into a bedroom and touched her under her pants with his fingers.
Long has worked at Southern Prairie YMCA as its youth sports coordinator since November. In that role, he oversaw all of the SPYMCA’s youth programming, such as soccer, field hockey, youth basketball, T-ball and some adult leagues.
Long was being held in Union County Jail on $10,000 bond.
Dana Dodge, Southern Prairie YMCA executive director released the following statement on behalf of the organization this morning:
"The Southern Prairie YMCA strives to create a safe and secure atmosphere for our members. Our goal is to provide an atmosphere to support the growth and development of families in and around the Creston area. We seek input from our members to insure that the staff and programs are of the highest quality. Yesterday, a staff member was arrested. That staff person, Allen Long is no longer an employee of the Southern Prairie YMCA."
Dodge requested that individuals with any questions, comments or concerns pertaining to this matter to contact her at 641-782-9622.
