A sharps drop-off box has moved from its former locations at Greater Regional Health to its new location in the parking lot of the Union County Emergency Management, 705 E. Taylor St.
The U.S. Food and Drug Administration recommends individuals place all needles and in a sharp disposal container immediately after they have been used in the new drop box.
When three-quarters full those containers are then to be disposed of. Overfilling a sharps disposal container increases the risk of accidental needle stick injury.
