Jacob Allen Thomsen, 28, of New Market was charged with second offense operating under the influence, eluding, driving while suspended, interference with official acts, assault while participating in a felony, failure to provide proof of financial liability, failure to use seat belt and open container 12:22 a.m. Sunday on Main Street in Blockton.

According to a Taylor County Sheriff’s report, during a routine traffic stop, Thomsen drove away and his vehicle made contact with a deputy causing a laceration to his arm. Thomsen exceeded the posted speed limit several times during the pursuit. During transportation to the Taylor County Sheriff’s office, deputies noted the smell of alcohol on Thomsen’s breath. Thomsen was given field sobriety testing, which he failed. Thomsen consented to a preliminary breath test which showed a blood alcohol content of .111. Thomsen consented to a data master test which showed a .096 BAC.

Thomsen was being held on $13,000 bond.

Clinton Russel Johnson, 39, and Samantha Dawn Sweat, 18, both of Blockton, and Cynthia Joanne Butler, 37, of Bedford were each charged with first offense possession of a controlled substance 4:48 p.m. Sunday at Casey’s General Store, 608 W. Madison St., in Bedford.

According to a Taylor County Sheriff’s report, during a probable cause search of the vehicle Johnson was driving and Butler and Sweat were passengers of, a metal pipe filled with marijuana was found.

Johnson, Butler and Sweat were being held on $1,300 bond each.
