Adair County Sheriff

Justin Lee Whipple, 29, of Perry was charged with third offense operating while intoxicated and driving while barred 1 a.m. Thursday on the 1300 block of Stuart Road.

According to an Adair County Sheriff’s report, a possible accident involving a maroon Monte Carlo was reported to deputies and identified Whipple as the driver. Whipple was found in the vehicle at the 1300 block of Stuart Road. Deputies observed that Whipple had bloodshot watery eyes and the smell of alcohol on his breath. Whipple refused to take field sobriety tests, but consented to a preliminary breath test which showed over .08. Whipple consented to providing a Data Master sample at the Adiar County Jail which showed a blood alcohol content of .219.

Whipple was being held on $5,000 bond.

Jose Stephen Bernal Miller, 30, of Hartington was charged with public intoxication 11:09 p.m. Tuesday at the intersection of South Oak Street and West Division Street in Orient.

According to an Adair County Sheriff’s report, Miller parked his vehicle on private property, then walked around in the street. Miller stated that he had been drinking with friends and was left behind. Deputies observed that Miller had bloodshot watery eyes, swayed when sitting and had the odor of alcohol on his breath. Miller refused to take a preliminary breath test.

Miller was released from the Adair County Jail after being held one day following a plea of guilty.

Brandie Sue Whitney, 31, 617 N. Pine St, was charged on an Adair County warrant for violation of probation Aug. 5 at the Adair County Law Enforcement Center.

Whitney was released on $1,000 bond.

Jason Dean Hauf, 41, of Greenfield was charged on an Adair County warrant for possession of a controlled substance Aug. 6 at the Adair County Law Enforcement Center.

According to an Adair County Sheriff’s report, Hauf had admitted to being in possession of methamphetamine during a routine traffic stop conducted Aug. 1.

Hauf was released on $5,000 bond.
