During the arraignment hearing of Charles Edward Keeton, a plea of not guilty – on all charges – was entered on his behalf, Friday morning at the Union County Courthouse.

Keeton, 37, of Creston is charged with murder in the second degree and felon in possession of a fire arm after the June 19 homicide of Christy Hribal, 44. Keeton did not waive his right to a speedy trial.

Court documents offer no insight into Keeton’s motive. He remains in the Union County County jail on $60,000 bond.

A pretrial conference is scheduled for 9:30 a.m. Aug. 30 at the Union County Courthouse, at which time a hearing on Keeton’s bond review request will take place. A jury trial is scheduled for 9 a.m. Oct. 21.
