The Mount Ayr Community School Board of Education will meet at 3:30 p.m. Aug. 12, 2019. The Agenda will include Administration report. activity fund, buildings and grounds, lunch, transportation, technology, principal report; athletic complex; FFA at Farm Progress show; fundraising requests; sharing social worker and human resources director with Diagonal; bills to be made; new seatbelt law on buses. The Southwestern Community College board of directors will meet at 8 a.m. Aug. 13, 2019. The agenda will include payables; personnel; five year facilities plan; college park sub division electric line easement; monitoring process, president’s report, construction update, and IACCT. The City of Mount Ayr will hold a special meeting Aug. 12, 2019, at 7p.m. The agenda will include nuisance property planning work session. Accident Colby Robert Giza was cited for operating without required equipment after and accident 8:25 a.m. Wednesday on Sycamore Street. According to a Creston Police report, Giza was travelling north on Sycamore Street, pulling a trailer, when the hitch came out of his truck causing his trailer to detach. Giza’s trailer then struck a legally parked 2017 KIA. Estimated damages were $5,000 to the KIA and $100 to Giza’s trailer. Ringgold County Sheriff

Christopher James Miller, 28, of Mount Ayr, was charged with first offense domestic abuse assault yesterday at 4:15 p.m. 504 S. Taylor St.

According to a Ringgold County Sheriff’s report, Miller did a wrestling type move on the victim during an argument.

Miller was being held in the Ringgold County Jail on no bond.
