Scott Vincent Hook passed away peacefully at his home Wednesday, July 17, 2019, in San Diego, California, with his loving wife, Sandee, by his side.

Scott was born in Creston on Sept. 17, 1950, the son of Joy (Franklin) and Charles Hook.

Scott entered the tire business at an early age and continued a very successful career at Bridgestone Firestone for more than 40 years. In business, he had a natural drive for success and work ethic that was unparalleled to others. A true leader and mentor to many, he believed in people, recognized real talent and helped many people achieve their own success.

Scott was known for his charismatic wit, sense of humor, loving nature and commitment to his family. Scott had a passion for classic cars, boating, and camping. He believed in hard work and the American Dream. Scott was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and good friend to many.

Left to cherish his memory, his wife of 42 years, Sandee (Miller); children: Shane, Heather, Heidi and Amber and their respective families, including eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He is also survived by siblings: Angie (Roy) Engleka, Lisa (John) Shaw, Tracy (Jan) Hook; sister-in-law Teresa Hook; brother-in-laws, Terry (Sandra) Miller and Steve (Bonnie) Miller; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Scott was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Lanny Hook; father and mother-in-law, Lowell and Joan Miller.

The family would like to thank you for your condolences and support during this difficult time. No funeral services will be held at Scott’s request.
