Scott William Richard Funke, 43, of Stuart was charged with violation of a no contact or protective order, two counts of felon in control of a firearm, possession of a controlled substance – methamphetamine, and gathering where controlled substances are used 4:53 p.m. Saturday on Highway 25.

According to an Adair County Sheriff's report, while apprehending Funke for an active arrest warrant, two individuals were observed at the residence – a garage – and one of the individuals is the protected party of a previously issued protective order. This individual was observed within the same garage as Funke. Funke and the protected party know there is a protection order in place and have violated the same order in the past. As Funke was apprehended, he state there was paraphernalia within the garage. He showed law enforcement the location of the paraphernalia. and deputies observed a small, resealable baggie that contained a white, crystalline substance in plain view on the floor between the bed and night stand. The contents of the baggie indicated presumptive positive for methamphetamine. Syringes were located within the residence/garage on a night stand. Funke had invited the other two individuals to the residence and provided the place where drugs were used. Additionally, a search warrant executed at Funke's residence led to the discovery of a safe located within Funke's vehicle, which contained a .32 caliber H&R revolver firearm and 36 rounds of 9mm Luger FC ammunition. Because Funke has been convicted of domestic abuse in the past (Iowa case No. AGCR072969 and No. AGCR041533), he is prohibited from possessing firearms or ammunition.

Funke was being held in the Adair County Jail.

Ramon Guerrero Gonzalez, 51, of Des Moines was charged on an Adair County warrant for failure to appear 8:51 p.m. July 10.

According to an arrest warrant filed Oct. 3, Guerrero Gonzalez failed to appear in court on the charges of first offense operating while under the influence.

Guerrero Gonzalez was being held in the Adair County Jail awaiting an appearance before the magistrate.
