ORIENT – Frederick Real Estate Services invites the community to an open house, recognizing the grand opening of their new office, located at 107 W. First St. in Orient. The event will take place from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, July 26. Pork burgers will be prepared by Adair County Pork Producers, and attendees are invited to eat and enjoy live music on the street in front of the building beginning at 7 p.m.
The new facility is an 800 square foot Victorian brick structure, built in 1894 by First State Bank of Adair County. It is the former location of Farmers and Merchants State Bank, and was most recently the location of the Bank of Memories museum, which has since moved to the Adair County Historical Museum in Greenfield.
Renovations and updating have taken two years to complete and include the restoration of the building’s original 13-foot high tin ceiling and installation of floor-to-ceiling walnut library paneling.
Visitors are also welcome to call anytime during business hours on weekdays.
