Robert Kleinow

Robert R. Kleinow, 55, of Grimes died Saturday, July 6, 2019, at his home.

Funeral Mass will be 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church in Mt. Pleasant. The Rev. Paul Connolly will officiate. Private family burial will be in Burge Cemetery following a luncheon in Manning Hall. Visitation will begin 3 p.m. Thursday at Elliott Chapel in New London with the family present from 6 to 8 p.m. and a prayer vigil at 5:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be directed to the family. Robert, son of Raymon and Patricia Carrier Kleinow, was born July 28, 1963, in Monticello. Rob was a 1981 graduate of Monticello High School.

On July 25, 1992, he married Sharon Lorber of New London at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church in Mt. Pleasant. He received a B.S. in education from the University of Iowa, then received his Master’s of Instructional Technology from University of Northern Iowa in 1997.

Robert is survived by his wife Sharon; father and step-mother, Ruth of Monticello; brother Mike (Kathy) of North Liberty; sisters, Janet (Doug) Cedarholm of Rochester, Minnesota, Barbara (Robert) Funke of Greenfield, Linda Kleinow of Monticello and Mary (Gary) Dura of Dubuque; parents-in-law, Charles and Irma Lorber of New London and many nieces and nephews.

Robert was preceded in death by his mother Patricia Kleinow.
