Brian Joseph Moore, 48, Kent was charged with public intoxication 5:31 a.m. Saturday at 1700 W. Towline St.

According to a Creston Police report officers were dispatched to Walnut and Mills Streets where a male subject had fallen and hit his head. The male subject, identified as Moore appeared to be intoxicated, Moore admitted to consuming alcohol, had the odor of an alcoholic beverage on his breath, blood shot watery eyes and had difficulty standing. Moore was transported to Greater Regional Health for evaluation. At 5:22 a.m. , Moore was cleared by GRH and taken into custody by Creston Police.

Moore was released on $300 bond.

Derek Jon Reha, 49, 510 S. Maple Street, was charged with public intoxication 8:00 p.m. Friday at the intersection of North Pine and West Montgomery Streets.

According to a Creston Police report Reha was staggering and fell at 105 E. Adams St. Reha admitted to being drunk in public several times, but refused a preliminary blood breath test.

Reha was released on $300 bond.

Ryan Michael McDougall, 37, 612 W. Mills St. No. D was charged with public intoxication and possession of a controlled substance second offense 2:30 a.m. Sunday at the intersection of North Oak and West Mills.

According to a Creston Police report, officers observed an individual asleep next to the side of the road. While speaking to the subject the officer noted the odor of alcohol on the subject’s breath as well as slurred speach. After transporting McDougall to the Union County Law Enforcement Center he consented to a preliminary breath test which resulted in a .121 BAC level. The officers noted what appeared to be the odor of marijuana from McDougall’s vape pen. A field test of the contents tested positive to marijuana or THC.

McDougall was released on $1,300 bond.

Joshua Russel Smith, 37, 1501 N. Lincoln No. 11, was charged with simple assault 4:55 p.m. Sunday at his residence.

According to a Creston Police report, the victim stated that Smith assaulted them by pushing them off a chair. The victim stated that Smith said “I will drag your face across the concrete.” and that they were in fear for their life. A witness that observed the altercation corroborated the victim’s story.

Smith was released on his promise to appear.

Crystal VanBrunt, 58, Orient, was charged with forgery 11:11 a.m. Monday at the Union County Law Enforcement Center.

According to a Creston Police report, VanBrunt admitted to signing and forging a check that was not hers. VanBrunt stated that her friend told her to cash the check for her. The victim stated that she has no idea whom the suspect is and never gave permission to anyone to cash it.

VanBrunt was released on $5,000 bond.
