Seven Panther soccer players earn all-conference nod

Four boys and three girls soccer players headline H10 postseason awards

Seven total players from the Creston boys and girls soccer teams were awarded Hawkeye 10 all-conference accolades Monday.

Taking home first team honors was Matt Borha for the Panther boys and Kara Kinsella from the Creston girls.

Borha, a senior, wraps up his Panther career with 10 goals in his final season, which was a team high.

Overall, the Creston striker ends his career with 16 goals and four assists, three of which came this past season.

For the Creston girls, Kinsella earned first team recognition for her work on the Panther defensive line.

Along with her defensive prowess, Kinsella netted a goal and an assist for Creston this season, wrapping up her career with six total goals and the lone assist.

Second team

Brodie Wallace and Payton Pryor were the two honorees for the Creston boys soccer team listed with second team honors.

In his sophomore campaign, Wallace finished third on the team in total shots with 53.

Several times Wallace found the net or helped a teammate find the twine as he recorded eight goals and six assists on the year.

Pryor wrapped up his final season in a Panther uniform as a sturdy force as the Panthers’ final wall of defense.

The outgoing senior led the Panthers in saves in all four seasons donning the Creston kit.

He will leave Creston with 493 career saves in goal, 163 of which came this past year in net.

Honorable mention

Three more Panther soccer players picked up honorable mention recognition for their performances this season.

Leading Creston’s goal scoring efforts for the girls team were both Grace Root and Bree Ross, who were both honored with honorable mention accolades.

Root finalized her last season with the Panthers by leading the team in scoring with 10 goals and an assist.

The soon-to-be Graceland soccer product leaves Creston with 30 career goals and 12 career assists in her high school career.

Ross ends her time in a Panther soccer uniform with 15 career goals and two assists.

The Creston senior had seven goals this season in 21 shots on goal for the Panthers.

Brance Baker was the lone honorable mention for the Panther boys’ team after nine goals and three assists in 2019.

For Baker, the nine goals in his sophomore season are a five-goal improvement on his first season with the Creston soccer team where he deposited four goals and passed out three assists.
