LENOX – The Raiderettes plated one run in the first and four more in third inning to pick up a Pride of Iowa Conference win over Lenox Thursday.

Rachel Sobotka pounded three hits for Mount Ayr and drove in two runs while Caroline McAlexander pitched a complete game shutout and blasted a two-run homer for the Raiderettes.

Lenox managed four hits in the loss, one coming from each of its top three hitters in the lineup and Lauren Christensen out of the six spot.

Southeast Warren 3, Mount Ayr 1

LIBERTY CENTER – Mount Ayr put together three hits in its second loss of the season Friday night to Southeast Warren, 3-1.

Addy Reynolds knocked in Jaycee Knight as the Raiderettes’ only run of the contest.

McAlexander gave up six hits in the loss and recorded one strikeout.

Mount Ayr 10, Exira-EHK 0 (5)

GRISWOLD – Freshman Payten Lambert went 3-for-3 at the plate as Mount Ayr picked up a run-ruled win over Exira-EHK Saturday at the Griswold tournament.

Alexa Anderson hit a home run and plated two RBIs in the win while McAlexander went 2-3 at the dish and drove in a run.

The Raiderettes used three pitchers over five innings that combined for seven strikeouts.

Mount Ayr 4, Griswold 0

GRISWOLD – Mount Ayr used a run in the first, second, fourth and sixth innings to defeat Griswold 4-0 Saturday.

Eighth grader Eva Sobotka went 1-3 with two RBIs for the Raiderettes and Maddie Stewart posted a 4-4 day with two runs scored and an RBI.

Anderson got the winning decision in the circle, going five innings while allowing no earned runs and three hits.

Martensdale-St. Marys 8, Lenox 2

MARTENSDALE – Kayla Yzaguirre and Morgan Parrish both recorded doubles for Lenox, but it wasn’t enough for the Tigers to topple the Blue Devils Friday.

Christensen drove in both of Lenox’s runs as she went 1-3 with two RBIs.

TJ Stoaks snagged the loss in the circle, striking out five over six innings of work.

Lenox 1, Shenandoah 0

LENOX – The Tigers manufactured a run in the first inning and it was all they needed to take down Shenandoah Monday.

Stoaks went seven full innings while allowing five hits and striking out nine Fillies’ batters.

Cassidy Nelson went 2-3 and scored the lone run for Lenox. Parrish matched Nelson with a 2-3 performance of her own.

Murray 3, Central Decatur 2 (9)

LEON – The Cardinals and Mustangs took it to extra innings Monday night with the Mustangs taking it in extras 3-2.

A two-run bottom of the fifth evened it up for the Cardinals with nobody was able to break the 2-2 tie through the seventh inning.

A double into left field off the bat of Kendra Boles scored Bailey Frederick in the top of the ninth to break the tie. Murray’s ace in Kayla Wookey held off the Cardinals in the bottom of the ninth, pitching a scoreless half inning to secure Murray’s sixth consecutive win.

“It was a well pitched game for both teams,” said Murray head coach Danny Jansen. “Kayla Wookey was outstanding. She allowed just 3 hits. ... Her control was outstanding tonight.”

Wookey struck out 17 to go with the three hits allowed. Central Decatur’s Kylee Rockhold struck out five and walked one, allowing five hits over the extra inning affair.

Kelli Romero hit a solo homer for Murray in the first inning for her only hit.

Murray 4, Seymour 1

MURRAY – Bre Klein gave up one hit and one earned run over the course of seven innings.

However, the Lady Mustangs made things interesting as they didn’t plate a run until the sixth inning.

Katy Gibbs knocked in two runs in the sixth and Wookey added another to seal the win.

Bedford 4, East Union 3

BEDFORD – The Eagles jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first inning against Bedford Friday, but couldn’t hold on to the lead, falling 4-3.

Jayden Welcher was a good portion of the offensive muster for East Union as she went 3-3 with two runs scored and an RBI at the plate.

Mallory Raney and Kaitlyn Mitchell drove in the other two runs for EU while Molly McNeill picked up a double.

Twin Cedars 11, Orient-Macksburg 0 (5)

ORIENT – Twin Cedars plated at least one run in every inning of an 11-0 win over Orient-Macksburg Friday.

Kaela Eslinger took the loss in the circle while allowing two earned runs over the course of the game.

Eslinger, Christa Cass and Janesa Tonnberg each had one of O-M’s three hits on the day.

Central Decatur 13, Southwest Valley 2 (5)

LEON – The Cardinals defeated Pride of Iowa foe Southwest Valley Friday night, wining 13-2.

Abbi Peterson and Ryanne Mullen scored the lone two runs for SWV while Norah Lund went 2-3 out her leadoff spot in the lineup.
