CORNING – Two Adams County 4-H’ers will participate in the National 4-H Safety Education and Shooting Sports competition June 24-28 in Grand Island, Nebraska. Eighteen youth will represent Iowa in the national championships.
Qualifying was in August 2018 at the state match held at Big Springs near Grinnell. Molly Bagby, daughter of Susan and Mike Bagby, will complete in small bore rifle events and Vincente Butcher, son of Judith and Jeremy Butcher, will compete in wildlife/hunting skills events over three days. They have support from Adams County Pheasants Forever and Adams County Extension Council to cover some of the costs. Adams County coaches are Barb and David Fuller of Corning. Twenty 4-H’ers participate in Adams County SESS and practice monthly.
