Larry Mullen, 62, of Des Moines, formerly of Corning, died Tuesday, May 21, 2019, at VA Hospital in Des Moines.

Memorial services will be 11 a.m. Friday, May 31, at Pearson Family Funeral Service and Cremation Center, 701 Seventh St., in Corning with Larry Johnson officiating. Burial will be in Victoria Cemetery in Massena. Military honors will be provided by the United States Marine Corps and Corning American Legion OURCQ Post No. 117. Visitation with family present will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday, May 30, at the funeral home. Memorials may be directed to the family. Online condolences may be left at www.pearsonfuneralhomes.com.

Larry Lee Mullen, son of Eldon Duane Mullen and Lois Lucy (Golly) Nolan, was born June 30, 1956, in Greenfield. Larry joined the United States Marines March 31, 1975, right after high school, and was stationed in the Philippines during the Vietnam War. He was honorably discharged from active duty March 3, 1979.

On Sept. 26, 1977, Larry married Natividad (Babe) Patiag at 29 Palms, California, on the military base. They later divorced.

Following his military service, Larry worked for the co-op in Corning for several years. Larry worked from 1988 to 2008 for the Pipe and Piling Company of Michigan in Papillion, Nebraska, and as a yard foreman for 15 years.

Larry was a member of Corning American Legion OURCQ Post No. 117.

Larry is survived by his children, Larramie (Kristina) Campbell of St. Charles, Kathy (Mike) Jorgensen of Hampton, Jaime Mullen (significant other Devin Guzman) of Des Moines, Luke Mullen of Creston and Erik Mullen of Des Moines; grandchildren, Emery Mullen, Abbigale Campbell, Hannah Jorgensen, Autumn Campbell, Mersades Mullen, Deakon Mullen, Maddison Campbell, Natalie Mullen, Mark Jones Jr., Quincy Jones, Alexis Hall and Charlotte Campbell; great-grandchildren, Jorge, Amore and Emmanuel; mother Lois Nolan of Corning; grandmother Vivian Golly of Greenfield; brothers, Kerry Mullen of Corning, Nick (Angie) Mullen of Corning and Mark (Dede) Mullen of Paris, Missouri; sisters, Lisa (Jim) Glasgo of Corning and Marci (Tom) Rhamy of Corning; numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, other relatives and friends.

Larry was preceded in death by his father Eldon Mullen and grandparents, Charles and Clara Mullen and Ernest Golly.
