Virginia Pierce, 82, of Creston died Sunday, May 19, 2019, at Crest Haven Care Centre.

Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, May 23, at Pearson Family Funeral Service and Cremation Center, 809 W. Montgomery St., in Creston. The Rev. Rick Titus will officiate. Open visitation is from 1 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, May 22, at the funeral home. Interment will be in Graceland Cemetery in Creston. Memorial contributions may be directed to the family. Virginia Fay Pierce, daughter of Luther Arthur William and Rhoda Elizabeth (Beedle) Keller, was born April 5, 1937, in Creston. She attended Creston Public Schools, and although she did not graduate, Virginia did earn her GED.

She married Richard H. Pierce in Creston, and although the couple never had any children, Virginia thought of her nieces and nephews as her children. Virginia worked as a homemaker and housewife. She worked a few years as a waitress while living in Des Moines. The couple also lived a short time in Illinois, but Virginia lived most of her life in Creston.

Virginia was a member of American Legion Auxiliary and Fraternal Order of the Eagles No. 1398 Auxiliary in Creston.

Virginia is survived by her siblings, Lawrence Keller of Joliet, Illinois, Clarence (Sharon) Keller of Creston and Rosalie Blue of Creston; special niece Anna Whetzell of Creston; special nephew Larry Barton of Des Moines; many other nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Virginia was preceded in death by her husband Richard; parents; sisters, Beulah Jones, Francis Clayton and infant sister Doris Ann; brother Donald Keller; brothers-in-law, Robert Jones and Darrell Clayton; sister-in-law Elizabeth Keller; three nephews and one niece.
