Veterans honored

VFW Field dedication: Creston Little League teams and area veterans face the flags as they rise for the first time on the newly installed flag poles at the VFW field at Page and Oak streets. The Creston Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1797, Creston Little League and Creston Parks and Rec installed the flag poles, new bleachers, a new outfield fence and refurbished the infield with financial support from area businesses.

After Veteran Pam Shady threw one of the first pitches at the rededication of the VFW ball field and Little League opening night, her nephew, Xavier Shady, gives her a hug as he returns the ball to her.
