Athlete of the Week: Week Five

The fifth spring sports South Central Iowa Athlete of the Week polls have been conducted with four winners. (April 29 - May 4).

Polls were conducted on the Twitter profile of CNA/OST/FO/ACFP sports reporter Tyler Hetu (@TheTylerHetu) and on esurveypro.com. Final percentages are determined by the total votes in both polls.

Boys track and field – Erick Rodriguez – Freshman – Creston

At Hawkeye 10 meet: Medalled in long jump with new personal best (18-7 1/2), helped earn season best times in sprint medley and 4x400 meter relay.

Girls track and field – Emma Atwood – Senior – Central Decatur

At Pride of Iowa Championships: Broke school record in the 100 meter hurdles and won three titles (high jump, shuttle hurdle, 400 hurdles). Set new school record in high jump (5-6) at Raiderette Relays

Soccer – Madison McCoubrey – Sophomore – Creston

In three games: Made 12 saves, scored a goal and helped post two shutouts
