Larry Freeman, 74, of Fontanelle died Wednesday, May 8, 2019, at Good Samaritan Society in Fontanelle.
Funeral services were 10 a.m. Monday, May 13, at Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Fontanelle with burial in Greenfield Cemetery. A luncheon was held at the church following the committal services. The Rev. Steven Broers and the Rev. Anthony Scalisi officiated the service. Open visitation was from 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday, May 12, at Steen Funeral Home, 101 SE Fourth St., in Greenfield with family present from 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday. Larry Elton Freeman, son of Elton and Dorothy (Winter) Freeman, was born Dec. 25, 1944, in Fontanelle. Larry graduated from Bridgewater-Fontanelle High School and resided in Fontanelle his entire life.
On March 25, 1971, he married Vickie Kingery. Larry spent his more than 40 year career at Fontanelle Co-op as a feed truck driver and feed mill operator, retiring in 2006.
Larry is survived by his daughter Kami Winther of Polk City; son-in-law Jason Winther of Polk City; grandchildren, Jordan, Maddie Sue, Hallie Mae and Samuel Elton; sister Sharlene Murphy of Menlo; brother-in-law Randy Kingery of Bellevue; uncle Donald Winter of Fontanelle; nieces and nephews, Patti, Richard, Mark and Pam Murphy, Brian (godson), Brad Freeman and Brenda Young, Mandy Nemmers and Shelby Kingery; and other relatives and friends.
Larry was preceded in death by his parents; wife Vickie Freeman; brother Dale (Bonnie)Freeman; brother-in-law Bobbie Murphy; and father- and mother-in-law, Rex and Betty Kingery.
